Welcome to the Underground Theater Wiki!

If you've never worked with a wiki before, I highly recommend looking at MediaWiki's Guide to Wiki Markup, this will help give you a crash course. Once you've had a chance to look at that, we'll move onto adding a page, adding your userpage and adding your character page. First, however, make an account to edit the wiki.

Making a Username and logging in

Up in the very top right corner, click "Create Account." Enter the information requested and then click the green button. Congratulations! You now have an account!

In the future, you can login by clicking "Log In" in the top right.

Adding a page

You can add a page in several ways.

  1. Click the search box in the top right and enter the name of the page you want to create. When the search result comes up, click the Red Link. This will open a "Create new Page" page.
  2. Create a link somewhere by adding link brackets [[like this]] around it to create a red link like this. Click it and then click "create" in the top right to create a new page there. (Don't click this one, this one needs to stay red for other users!)
  3. Go to wiki.undergroundtheater.org/Your_Page_Name_Here, replacing Your_Page_Name_Here with your page name and replacing spaces with underscores. When the blank page appears, click "Create".
  4. Use the form below:

Make sure to preview your changes before saving!

What kinds of pages should I add?

You should add pages that involve things in the Underground Theater world, like characters, cities, factions and places. Don't copy official genre information, such as a clan history. You should, however, add in character histories and location histories where applicable. You should also add out-of-character things, such as your User page.

Making your User page

Click your username in the top right of the page (after logging in). If you see a blank page, click "Create" in the top right.

The Player template

Copy the code below and fill in whatever pats you wish. Anything you leave blank will not show up.

{{Player
|name=Your Name
|position=Any positions you have in UT
|posemail=Your official email for UT if you have one
|mail=Your public email
|patron=when you became a UT patron
|home=Your home troupe. Link to it if you can
|country=Your country
|lst=Your Lead Storyteller(s)
|lstemail=Your LST's email
}}

More info

Under the template, add whatever information you want, such as contact info, a history of your RP experience, the best recipe you have for gazpacho soup or whatever suits your fancy.

Preview and save

Click "Preview" to see if the page displays how you want it to. If it does, click "Save Page."

Now we'll move on to...

Making your character page

First, go to Template:CAI PC Summary for Cam/Anarch/Independent Alliance PCs or Template:Sabbat PC Summary for a Sabbat Setting PC, or copy the appropriate text below (just like the player Template above). Follow the instructions to copy that entire block of code into your new character page. fill in the information after each "=" sign with the requested information. You must fill out and add this template to all new characters, though you are welcome to place it at the bottom of your wiki content.

For Camarilla/Anarch/Independent Alliance/Autarkis Setting PCs:

{{CAI PC Summary
|clan=Incomplete
<!-- NO LINKS FOR CLAN -->
|sect=Incomplete
<!-- NO LINKS FOR SECT -->
|city=Incomplete
<!-- NO LINKS FOR CITY -->
|p=[mailto:email@site.com Your Name]
|s=[mailto:storyteller@email.com ST Name]
}}

For Sabbat Setting PCs:

{{Sabbat PC Summary
|clan=Incomplete
<!-- NO LINKS FOR CLAN -->
|sect=Incomplete
<!-- NO LINKS FOR SECT -->
|city=Incomplete
<!-- NO LINKS FOR CITY -->
|p=[mailto:email@site.com Your Name]
|s=[mailto:storyteller@email.com ST Name]
}}

More information

Next, you can add text underneath the template. Here, you might want to expand on character history, lineage, status, or many other things. Use section headers when applicable.

Categories

If you have properly applied the PC Summary Templates, your character will have the appropriate categories applied. Sabbat PCs may choose to apply a Faction or Organization category manually. These can be found via the Sabbat Political Factions and Organizations Page.

Preview and save!

Click "Preview" and see how it looks. When you're satisfied, click "Save Page."

Making your city page

Instructions will be added as the wiki team completes the templates.
